FILLER DISSOLVING

Did you know that dermal filler can be dissolved?

There are 2 types of dissolve - an emergency dissolve and an elective dissolve.

An emergency dissolve would be in the case of a vascular occlusion (VO). A VO is where a small amount of filler is inside one of the small facial blood vessels which can cause a blockage. If blood can't flow through the vessel then blood carrying oxygen can't get to the surrounding tissue. If left untreated this can result in necrosis (tissue death). A VO is a VERY RARE occurrence and if it was going to happen it would usually be within 24-48 hours of having the treatment. Everyone having a filler treatment with me is educated on what signs and symptoms to look out for and to contact me straight away if you are concerned about anything at all.

An elective dissolve is having your filler dissolved because you choose to. This could be because of filler that has migrated (for example above the lips) or any lumpy or unevenness that you dislike.

Before carrying out an emergency or an elective dissolve, a full patch test will be done to ensure you are not allergic to the substance.

You would need to book a full face to face consultation if you were wanting an elective dissolve as I need to assess your suitability to have it.
